Volunteers Needed to Sit Gallery during Upcoming NAEA Student Exhibition

We are in need of Art Education Students and NAEA Members to Volunteer at Towson Arts Collective during our upcoming exhibition.

This is a great opportunity for us! (Especially if you plan on selling your work) Going into the show, the commission rate is 60/40, 60% to artist and 40% to the gallery. If you sit the gallery, the rate goes down dramatically! For one sit, the commission rate becomes 80/20. And then for 2x, the commission rate becomes 90/10! Since TAC is not charging very much, we need to plan on having as many gallery volunteers as possible! This is also another resume builder! Employers love seeing volunteer work and gallery experience.

The show will be on exhibition from January 20, 2012- February 24, 2012. The gallery will be open on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 12-5pm.

See "Volunteer Opportunities" Tab to view slots needing to be filled. Email Megan White with any questions or concerns.

Stuff a Christmas Stocking

Hey ladies and gents,

Feel like doing something nice for someone this holiday season? This year we are stuffing holiday stockings for two children from Cherry Hill in south Baltimore through the PALS program; we have one boy age 7-10, and one girl age 7-10. It is our hope that our stockings will help brighten the holidays for these kids, so we really want to stuff some wonderful stockings for them!

How can you help? Bring in some goodies! There is a sign up sheet on the door of the Art Ed room (CA 2001) where you can write your name and what you are bringing in so that we don't end up with a lot of duplicates. There are going to be two boxes for you to put your donations in located in the back of the room, one for our boy and one for our girl. You can bring donations in up until Monday, December 5th. At 3:15 on that Monday of the 5th, Kit and I will be stuffing the stockings and dropping them off to the woman in charge of PALS.

Seeing as we are an arts education organization, we definitely want a lot of artsy stuffins in these stockings, so think crayons, markers, paper, anything like that. Also, general stuffins are okay too, including: small games or toys, gloves, candy, etc. (the woman from PALS reminded us to please not give them too much candy--lets also keep the kids' parents in mind, who may not want the kids pinging off the walls all winter break!)

Since this is for kids (especially since it's for local kids), I really want these stockings to be awesome, so I encourage you all to bring in whatever you can! Feel free to email me with any questions/concerns/comments!
